Philosophy of Education
All students learn in their own way at their own pace. We, as educators, must be ready, willing, and able to meet the needs of a diverse learning population. This can be achieved through differentiation of lessons, activities, and assessments. I am a strong proponent of teaching students how to learn. There are certain facts, equations, and skills that students should know by the time they finish their schooling. A good educator is able to facilitate that learning. However, I find it is just as important to teach students how to find that information on their own. Therefore, it is imperative to introduce the concept of lifelong learning. This can be achieved by teaching students how to safely and effectively search for and access accurate, useful information from a variety of sources. We can then teach them how to use that information to meet their needs and attain their goals.
