K-6 Library Curriculum Plan
This is the curriculum plan that I created and implemented for the 2012-2013 school year. The plan, designed for elementary school libraries, is modeled around the Illinois School Library Media Association's library benchmarks found in Linking for Learning. The plan calls for alternating weeks. One week is dedicated to finding just right books and reading. The alternate week focuses on topics like keywords, fact vs. fiction, and evaluating sources.

Internet Validity
This is part of a lesson I taught on internet validity and evaluating web pages. There is a list of five criteria for evaluating websites and five web resources related to internet validity. Also included is a chart that can be used to keep track of which website the student visited as well as a way in which the student can assign a score for each of the five criteria.
I found that students tend to believe everything they read on the internet, but this lesson should help students develop their information literacy skills.

Rollyo Lesson
Below are the elements I put together for a full 20 minute lesson on the use of Rollyo.
Rollyo is a free online program that allows users to create customized search engines that they call Searchrolls. The intended audience is grade school teachers, but can be altered for students.
Included in the lesson materials are a lesson plan, a PowerPoint presentation, a graphic organizer created with Inspiration, and an instructional handout.

The lesson is intended for 7th grade science classes studying the forces of motion.
Students will search the internet for information on roller coasters, then work in teams to design their own roller coaster based on their research.
